Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how The Trucking Code uses cookies and similar browser technologies, including how analytics preferences are controlled.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small pieces of information that a website may store through your browser. Websites may also use similar technologies, such as local storage or other browser storage, to remember preferences or support website functionality.

These technologies may be used for essential website functions, remembering privacy choices, measuring website performance, or other purposes described in this policy.

2. Necessary storage

The Trucking Code may use necessary browser storage or similar technologies to support core website functions.

This may include remembering your cookie or privacy preferences so that the website can respect the choices you previously made.

Necessary technologies are used only where reasonably required for the website to operate or remember essential preferences.

Public forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check for automated abuse. Turnstile processes verification and technical request information as part of the security check, independently of analytics choices.

3. Analytics

Analytics technologies are optional. They are intended to remain disabled until you provide consent for analytics.

Where analytics consent has been granted, The Trucking Code may use analytics services such as PostHog and Google Analytics to better understand how visitors use the website.

Depending on the analytics service and its configuration, this may include information such as pages viewed, navigation activity, interactions with website features, browser or device information, and similar website-performance information.

PostHog page-view and website interaction tracking is intended to remain disabled until the required analytics consent has been provided.

PostHog session replay and automatic interaction capture are disabled in the website configuration. The website's analytics code excludes enquiry, resume intake, payment, and admin pages and strips query strings and form contents from the events it sends.

4. Marketing and advertising technologies

The Trucking Code does not currently enable advertising, remarketing, or behavioural advertising cookies as part of the website's current configuration.

If advertising, remarketing, or similar tracking technologies are added in the future, this policy and the website's consent controls should be updated before those technologies are enabled.

5. Embedded videos

The YouTube player loads only when you choose to load a video. This connects your browser to YouTube using its privacy-enhanced player. YouTube may then process technical information or use browser storage under its own policies. This choice is separate from optional website analytics. Video thumbnails may also be requested from YouTube image services.

6. Service providers and technology partners

We use third-party service providers to operate the website, process payments, manage consultations, deliver communications, maintain security, and understand website performance.

Depending on how you interact with The Trucking Code, these providers may process limited personal information on our behalf or as part of providing their services.

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file-storage infrastructure used to operate website features and securely store relevant website and customer information.
  • Stripe — payment processing, transaction confirmation, fraud prevention, and payment security.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional emails, booking communications, contact responses, and newsletter communications where applicable.
  • Google Calendar — scheduling and administration of consultation appointments where used.
  • Google Meet — providing online consultation meetings where used.
  • Google authentication services — authentication or account-connected functionality where Google OAuth is enabled.
  • Google email services — business communications where Gmail or another Google email service is used.
  • Vercel — website hosting, application delivery, and related technical infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare — website security, DNS, traffic protection, content delivery, and related network services where enabled.
  • PostHog — website analytics and interaction measurement where analytics consent has been granted.
  • Google Analytics — website analytics and performance measurement where analytics consent has been granted.

These providers may process information in jurisdictions outside Alberta or Canada, depending on their infrastructure and service configuration. Personal information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.

7. External links and social platforms

The Trucking Code may contain links to services such as WhatsApp, YouTube, social media platforms, government websites, or other external resources.

Simply following a link may take you to a website controlled by a third party. Cookies or other tracking technologies used after leaving The Trucking Code are controlled by that external provider and are subject to its policies.

8. Your choices

Where optional analytics technologies require consent, you can choose whether to allow them through the website's cookie or privacy controls.

Rejecting optional analytics should not prevent you from accessing the core educational content and services of The Trucking Code.

You may also be able to control or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Disabling certain technologies may affect the operation of some website features.

9. Changing your consent

You may change or withdraw your analytics consent using the website's available privacy or cookie preference controls.

When consent is withdrawn, optional analytics collection should stop for future website activity, subject to the technical operation of the relevant services and information already lawfully collected.

10. Cookie and storage duration

The length of time that cookies or similar technologies remain stored can vary depending on their purpose and the service that created them.

Some technologies may last only for the current browsing session, while others may remain longer so that preferences can be remembered.

Specific analytics storage periods may also depend on the configuration of the analytics provider.

11. Privacy

More information about how The Trucking Code collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information is available in ourPrivacy Policy.

12. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, analytics services, browser technologies, or privacy practices change.

The current version will be published on this page.

13. Contact

Questions about cookies, analytics, or privacy preferences can be sent to truckingcode@outlook.com.
