This policy explains how copyright-protected material on The Trucking Code may be used and how to report suspected copyright infringement.

1. Copyright ownership

Unless otherwise stated, original content published on The Trucking Code, including text, articles, graphics, branding, educational materials, downloadable resources, videos, website design elements, and other original content, is owned by or licensed to The Trucking Code.

Copyright and other intellectual property rights may apply to this material under Canadian and other applicable laws.

2. Permitted use

You may access and use website content for your own lawful, personal, and informational purposes.

You may not reproduce, republish, sell, redistribute, modify, commercially exploit, or represent protected content as your own without permission where permission is required by applicable law.

Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict uses that are permitted under applicable copyright law.

3. Third-party content

Some content displayed or referenced on The Trucking Code may belong to third parties, including photographs, videos, logos, trademarks, quotations, embedded media, government materials, or linked resources.

Copyright and other rights in third-party content remain with their respective owners. The presence of third-party content on or through the website does not transfer ownership of that content to The Trucking Code.

4. Reporting suspected copyright infringement

If you believe that content available on The Trucking Code infringes copyright that you own or are authorized to represent, you may send a copyright complaint to:

truckingcode@outlook.com

To help us review your complaint, please provide enough information to identify both the protected work and the material you believe is infringing.

5. Information to include in a copyright complaint

Your complaint should include, where reasonably available:

  • Your full name and appropriate contact information.
  • Identification or a description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • An explanation of your ownership, licence, authorization, or other interest in the copyrighted material.
  • The URL or other location on The Trucking Code where the allegedly infringing material appears.
  • A description of the activity or use that you believe constitutes infringement.
  • Any additional information reasonably necessary to understand and review the complaint.
  • A statement that the information supplied in your complaint is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

6. Review of copyright complaints

We may review a copyright complaint and the material identified in it before determining what action, if any, is appropriate.

Where appropriate, we may request additional information, temporarily restrict access to material, remove or modify material, contact the person who supplied the material, or take another reasonable step.

Submitting a complaint does not automatically establish that copyright infringement has occurred or guarantee that material will be removed.

7. False or misleading complaints

Copyright complaints should be submitted honestly and should not knowingly contain false, misleading, or materially inaccurate information.

If you are uncertain about whether a particular use infringes copyright, you may wish to obtain advice from a qualified intellectual property professional before submitting a complaint.

8. Copyright concerns involving external websites

The Trucking Code may link to or embed content from external websites and platforms that we do not control.

If your copyright concern relates solely to content hosted by a third-party platform, you may need to contact that platform or content provider directly.
